About This Event
Highlands Lake Reserve is a 4-hectare open parkland featuring extensive coloured concrete footpaths, detailed feature paving, and hardwood timber bridges surrounding a 1.3km lake perimeter. It includes a detailed public lighting system, an automatic irrigation system for garden beds, over 250 advanced trees, 6,500 shrubs and groundcovers, and expansive turfed Kikuyu grass areas. The reserve is designed for local residents to enjoy, offering a playground, a cafe, barbecue areas with benches and shade, and walking paths around the lake. In 2007, it was awarded the Civil Commercial Landscape of the Year by the Landscape Industry Association of Victoria (LIAV).
