HalalHQ Marriage

How Halal Matchmaking Works

A calm, wali-centric way for Australian Muslims to seek marriage. No photos to browse, no one to one chat, and a human matchmaker at every step.

Our Approach

HalalHQ Marriage is matchmaking, not dating. It is built for the Australian Muslim community to seek marriage in a way that keeps the deen at the centre: intentional, supervised, and calm.

You will not scroll through people or filter a catalogue of strangers. Instead, an AI compatibility score ranks possible pairings and a HalalHQ matchmaker proposes one match at a time. A sister's wali joins before any conversation opens, the whole conversation happens in a moderated group, and contact details are only released by an admin when both families are ready.

  • Lower the gaze: no photos in profiles and no gallery to browse
  • Wali-centric: a sister's wali joins before any conversation opens
  • No seclusion: a moderated group conversation, never a private one to one chat
  • Human in the loop: a matchmaker approves, proposes, moderates, and releases contact

What Makes It Halal

Every part of the experience is designed around these non-negotiables.

No photos to browse

There is no gallery of profiles to scroll and no photos in profiles. Lower the gaze is built into the design. Photos, if any, are shared privately only at the contact stage.

Curated, not browsed

An AI compatibility score ranks possible pairings and a HalalHQ matchmaker proposes one specific match at a time. You are not searching, filtering, or swiping through people.

Wali at the centre

A sister's wali is required before any conversation opens and joins as a full participant. A brother may optionally involve his own family or wali too.

Moderated group conversation

No private one to one chat ever. Conversation happens in a group with the pair, the sister's wali, optionally the brother's wali, and a HalalHQ moderator.

Contact stays protected

Messages auto-redact phone numbers, emails, and social handles. Contact details are released only by an admin, only when both families are ready.

Marriage intent only

This is for nikah, not dating. Clear intent, deal-breakers, and seriousness are surfaced. No casual dating, no swipes, no streaks.

Honesty and safety

AI vetting plus a human review screen for fakes, scams, and bad intent. A report and block channel is available throughout the process.

A human always decides

The AI assists with scoring and flags. A human matchmaker approves profiles, proposes matches, moderates the chat, and releases contact. The AI never decides alone.

How It Works

From creating a profile to a blessed beginning, step by step.

1

Create your profile

Fill in a text-only profile: your background, your practice of the deen, what you are looking for, and your deal-breakers. No photos.

2

Vetting and approval

AI vetting and a human matchmaker review your profile for honesty and safety before it enters the pool. This screens out fakes and bad intent.

3

A match is proposed

The matchmaker reviews AI-ranked, reciprocal compatibility scores and proposes one specific match. You see a limited, text-only card, no surname and no contact details.

4

You say Interested or Pass

Each side privately and independently chooses Interested or Pass. Neither side sees the other's pending choice, so there is no pressure. A pass is always reported neutrally.

5

The sister nominates her wali

On a mutual yes, the sister nominates her wali, who is invited and must join. The brother may optionally add a family member or wali too.

6

The group conversation opens

A moderated group conversation opens with the pair, the sister's wali, optionally the brother's wali, and a HalalHQ moderator. Messages auto-redact contact details.

7

Contact is released

When everyone signals they are ready and an admin confirms, contact details are released and the families continue offline towards nikah.

Guidance for a Safe Journey

A few reminders that keep the process honest and respectful.

Involve your family early

Marriage in Islam is a family matter. The sister's wali joins the conversation, and a brother is welcome to involve his family too.

Keep contact on the platform

Contact details are released by an admin only when both families are ready. Until then, messages keep contact protected for everyone's safety.

Report anything that feels off

If someone asks for money, behaves inappropriately, or seems dishonest, use the report and block channel. A human moderator is in every conversation.

Take your time

Marriage is a lifetime commitment. There are no streaks or timers pushing you. Move at the pace that is right for both families.

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions people ask most before they begin.

Can I browse profiles or see photos?

No. There is no gallery of profiles to scroll and no photos in profiles. Matches are curated for you. An AI compatibility score ranks possible pairings and a HalalHQ matchmaker reviews them, then proposes one specific match at a time. Photos, if ever shared, happen privately only at the contact stage and only if both sides want to.

Is a wali (guardian) required?

Yes. A sister nominates her wali and the wali must join before any conversation can open. The wali is a full participant in the group conversation and helps decide when both families are ready. A brother may optionally involve a family member or wali too.

Do I ever chat one to one with a match?

No. There is no private one to one chat between the pair, ever. All conversation happens in a moderated group that includes the brother, the sister, the sister's wali, optionally the brother's wali, and a HalalHQ moderator.

How are phone numbers and contact details handled?

Messages auto-redact phone numbers, emails, and social handles, so contact cannot be exchanged early. Full contact details are released only by a HalalHQ admin, and only when both families have signalled they are ready to continue offline.

Who decides the matches, AI or a person?

A person. The AI assists by computing a deterministic compatibility score and flagging safety risks for the matchmaker. A human matchmaker reviews every profile, proposes every match, moderates the conversation, and releases contact. The AI never decides on its own.

What is this for?

Marriage (nikah) only. This is intentional, supervised matchmaking, not casual dating. There are no swipes, no streaks, and no dopamine mechanics. It is meant to feel like a trusted matchmaker, calm and respectful.
