A text-only profile: your background, your practice of the deen, what you are looking for, and your deal-breakers. No photos.
Vetting and approval
AI vetting and a human matchmaker review your profile for honesty and safety before it enters the pool.
A match is proposed
The matchmaker reviews AI-ranked compatibility scores and introduction requests, then proposes one specific match. You see a limited, text-only card.
You say Interested or Pass
Each side chooses privately and independently. Neither sees the other's pending choice, and a pass is always reported neutrally.
The sister nominates her wali
On a mutual yes, the sister nominates her wali, who is invited and must join. The brother may add a family member too.
The group conversation opens
A moderated group with the pair, the wali, and a HalalHQ moderator. Messages auto-redact contact details.
This is the only point you ever pay. Everything before it, including the conversation, is free. When you are both ready for the families to meet, each side confirms and pays a $11 (launch offer, normally $39) match fee. It is credited in full to your next match if this one closes before contact details are shared.
The families take over
Contact details, including the guardians', are shared. Your families arrange to meet themselves and continue towards nikah.

Involve your family early
Marriage in Islam is a family matter. The sister's wali joins the conversation, and a brother is welcome to involve his family too.
Keep contact on the platform
Contact details are released by an admin only when both families are ready. Until then, messages keep contact protected for everyone's safety.
Report anything that feels off
If someone asks for money, behaves inappropriately, or seems dishonest, use the report and block channel. A human moderator is in every conversation.
Take your time
Marriage is a lifetime commitment. There are no streaks or timers pushing you. Move at the pace that is right for both families.

What people ask before they begin.
Can I browse profiles or see photos?
You can search profiles, but there is no photo gallery to scroll. Every profile is text only, with no photos and no surnames, and search shows the same limited card a proposal shows. When someone looks right, you request an introduction and a HalalHQ matchmaker reviews it, proposing the match if it is suitable. Photos are never public: inside a match, each side may choose to share a photo privately at the right stage, with family present, and only after our team has reviewed it.
Is a wali (guardian) required?
Yes. A sister nominates her wali and the wali must join before any conversation can open. The wali is a full participant in the group conversation and helps decide when both families are ready. If a traditional wali is not available, for example for a revert sister without Muslim male relatives, she can nominate a trusted family member such as her sister to take this role; for the nikah itself, an imam can act as wali. A brother may optionally involve a family member too.
Do I ever chat one to one with a match?
No. There is no private one to one chat between the pair, ever. All conversation happens in a moderated group that includes the brother, the sister, the sister's wali, optionally the brother's wali, and a HalalHQ moderator.
How much does it cost?
Creating a profile, receiving proposals, and the moderated group conversation with the wali are all free, for as long as you both need. A one time match fee of $11 (launch offer, normally $39) applies to each side only when you both confirm you are ready to move past the conversation to the family stage, where the guardians' contact details are shared so your families can arrange to meet. If the match closes before contact details are shared, your fee is credited in full toward your next match. You are never charged for registering, being proposed, or talking.
How are phone numbers and contact details handled?
Messages auto-redact phone numbers, emails, and social handles, so contact cannot be exchanged early. Full contact details are released only by a HalalHQ admin, and only when both families have signalled they are ready to continue offline.
Who decides the matches, AI or a person?
A person. The AI assists by computing a deterministic compatibility score and flagging safety risks for the matchmaker. A human matchmaker reviews every profile, proposes every match, moderates the conversation, and releases contact. The AI never decides on its own.
What is this for?
Marriage (nikah) only. This is intentional, supervised matchmaking, not casual dating. There are no swipes, no streaks, and no dopamine mechanics. It is meant to feel like a trusted matchmaker, calm and respectful.
