Is Bulla Ice Cream Halal? Yes, the Range on Bulla's Own Halal List

Bulla confirmed its halal range to us in writing, with its own chilled and frozen halal lists. It keeps the name of its halal body private. Here is exactly what Bulla says.

Quick answer: yes, for the products on Bulla's list

Bulla sent us its current halal lists for its chilled and frozen ranges in May 2026, covering its ice creams, frozen yoghurts, creams, yoghurts and cottage cheese. It would not name its halal body. A Bulla product that is not on those lists is not covered by them.

What Did Bulla Tell Us About Halal?

Bulla confirmed its halal range in writing and kept its certifier private. We asked Bulla Customer Service which body certifies its range, and on 12 May 2026 it replied:

“The name of our halal body is intellectual property unfortunately. Please find our current halal lists attached for reference.”

Bulla Dairy Foods, Customer Service, email to HalalHQ, 12 May 2026

The two lists attached were headed “Chilled Products” and “Halal Frozen Products”, and each carries the line “Subject to change without notice”. Bulla does not publish them on its consumer website, so we keep them on file.

Does Bulla Say It Publicly?

On one product page, yes. Bulla's foodservice site, which sells to cafes and restaurants, lists “Halal certified” among the features of its Vanilla 10L ice cream, and says the product is “now made with no artificial colours & flavours, halal certified and gluten free”.

Bulla's consumer FAQ had no halal question when we read it on 1 November 2026.

Which Bulla Products Are on Its Halal Lists?

Its ice creams, frozen yoghurts, creams, yoghurts and cottage cheese. The frozen list Bulla sent names 81 products and the chilled list 21; these are the ranges they cover.

Halal frozen list

  • Creamy Classics tubs, cones, sticks and sandwiches
  • Real Dairy Vanilla and Chocolate tubs
  • Murray St ice cream tubs, sticks and choc tops
  • Choc Tops, Crunch, Splits, Icy Pops, Cool Down
  • Frozen Yoghurt and FroYo tubs and packs
  • Ice cream cakes and ice cream sandwiches

Chilled list

  • Thickened, double and dollop creams
  • Sour cream and crème fraîche
  • Australian, European and Greek Style yoghurts
  • Cottage cheese

A range above does not mean every flavour in it. The lists name exact products and sizes, so a flavour that is not named needs its own check.

How Do You Check a Bulla Pack on HalalHQ?

Open it on HalalHQ or scan its barcode. A Bulla pack we have matched to Bulla's lists shows halal, confirmed direct with Bulla, with its list as the evidence.

A pack we have not matched shows what its ingredients alone can tell us. That is not a finding against it; it means Bulla's list has not been tied to that exact barcode. The brand page lists every Bulla product we hold.

The Verdict: Can Muslims Eat Bulla Ice Cream?

Yes, for the products on Bulla's halal lists, on Bulla's own written word. Bulla says it uses a halal body but keeps its name private, so you are relying on Bulla rather than a certificate you can look up.

For a flavour not on the lists, check the product page first. Bulla says its lists can change without notice.

Bulla's lists were current on 12 May 2026. We will ask Bulla for fresh ones about a year on.
