Who is HCAA?

Halal Certification Authority (HCA / HCAA) is one of Australia's longest-running halal certification bodies, founded in 1993 and headquartered in Sydney. HCA certifies processed food, dairy, bakery, confectionery, fats and oils, spices, flavours and fragrances, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and chemicals for manufacturers exporting to Muslim-majority markets. HCA is an Approved Islamic Organisation under the Australian Government Authorised Halal Program (AGAHP) and is recognised by the competent authorities of Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain for halal red-meat export. HCA is also accredited by the UAE for the Gulf Cooperation Council's halal standard GSO 2055-2:2015. It is a founding member of the World Halal Council and the World Halal Food Council. HCA certifies manufacturers and abattoirs only — it does not certify restaurants or cafes.
