Who is FIANZ?

The Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand (FIANZ) is New Zealand's national peak body for Muslim communities, established in 1979. Its certification division, FIANZ Halal, has provided halal certification since 1984 and is one of New Zealand's Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI)-approved halal certification bodies under the country's halal export assurance framework. FIANZ Halal certifies meat, dairy, poultry, seafood and a wide range of food and non-food products, much of it for export. Its certification is recognised across major Muslim markets — it is the sole approved certifier for Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, and is accepted by authorities including Singapore's MUIS.
