Fact 1:Islamic Significance

The last ten nights of Ramadan are the most sacred of the year, containing Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Power), which is better than a thousand months. Performing Qiyam (night prayers) during this time is a profound act of worship, offering immense rewards and the chance for forgiveness.

Fact 2:About Community Events

Communal Qiyam provides a powerful spiritual atmosphere that can be difficult to achieve alone. The collective energy of praying together, the beautiful Quranic recitation by a Qari, and shared duas create a deeply moving and motivational environment, encouraging everyone to strive in their worship and connect with Allah.

When is Last 10 Nights Qiyam?

The Qiyam prayers take place every night during the last ten nights of Ramadan, from March 11th to March 19th, 2026. The program runs from 1:00 AM to 5:00 AM each night at the Australian Islamic Centre.

Where is Last 10 Nights Qiyam held?

The event is held at the Australian Islamic Centre (AIC) in Newport, Victoria. The centre is a well-known hub for the local Muslim community. Ample street parking is typically available, but arriving early is recommended due to the event's popularity.

Is this event free or do I need to register?

This is a community religious service and is free and open to all Muslims. No registration is required to attend. Donations to the mosque to support its programs and upkeep are always appreciated.

Is this event suitable for families and children?

While the late-night timing may be challenging for young children, families are welcome. The event is focused on quiet, intensive worship, so parents should ensure children can maintain a prayerful atmosphere for all attendees. It is most suitable for older children and adults.

What should I bring or prepare for this event?

Attendees are encouraged to come with a heart ready for worship. Bringing your own prayer mat, a water bottle, and a copy of the Quran can enhance your experience. It is also recommended to dress modestly and comfortably for long periods of prayer.
