This event is a fundraising initiative for the 'Masjid Isa Ibn Maryam Lakemba' project, which aims to transform an existing place of worship at 232 Lakemba Street, Lakemba, NSW, into a vibrant new mosque and comprehensive community hub. The project has a cost of $3.1 million and a settlement date of January 2026. The new Masjid will offer a wide range of services including daily and Jumu'ah prayer facilities, a weekend Arabic & Quran school through Al Tadhkirah Institute, extensive library resources, and various activities for youth and children. It will also provide crucial community and social services such as food banks and welfare support, cultural events, multi-faith dialogue sessions, and support for migrants and refugees. Additionally, the Masjid plans to host health and awareness campaigns, special Ramadan programs, and educational seminars and workshops featuring local and visiting scholars. The overall goal is to establish a dynamic center for worship, learning, and community engagement, reflecting Islam's holistic approach to community life.
